Simple Steps To Starting Your Business!

1. Pick a profession that makes you feel good at the end of the day.

I want you to do something that will make you go to sleep at night with the attitude that I can't wait until I get up in the morning. That is how you should feel about the business you start up. Some people in my past have told me that when you start a business you should always keep in mind the potential of selling it. I don't completely disagree with this but if that is something you enjoy doing, then so be it. For me, I wanted to start a business that I would be able to hire employee's and have them eventually run the company while I sit back and spend time with my family. That's my goal and to accomplish it I must work very smart and not hard.

2. Creating your 3-5 year goal.

Once you have your career in mind it is time for you to make your 3-5 year plan. No, it won't all happen, but it is a way for you to establish a goal and start figuring ways to accomplish it. As the time goes on you will find yourself adding things to your goal and taking things away. For know though, you have something to work for and it will keep you focused on what needs to be done.

3. Finding your demographic and market to them.

This is the tricky part and what I say may not work for every profession. I have learned over the years that you don't need a deep pocket to advertise. There are tons of ways to promote your business without spending a dime. What is needed from you though, is time and lots of it. So you will have to decide what is more important to you. Here are the basics of what every business should have up and running for their marketing campaign to start:

-Business Cards
-Business Brochures
-Portfolio
-Licenses/Certificates
-Website

It is so important that you really keep in mind your company logo and description. It has to be well designed and properly written. This doesn't stop there, you need this to flow with your website, brochures, car magnets and so on. First impression is everything when owning your own business.

Now your thinking; "why do I need a website?" Look at it this way, people spend more time on the computer than watching tv now a days. This means more searching is going on and the first thing they are going to see about you, is on that website. So it has to replicate you and your business to the fullest. Do not be shy to express your beliefs or passions, I found that the realer you are the better of a response you will receive. Here are some quick ways for you to get your website popping up on your major search engines:

Click Here (for msn a.k.a. bing)

All of these sites I provided are a free submission, I have received plenty of business just by using these sites and I will go into detail on some tricks latter on. For know I think this should give you a good start on owning your own Fortune 500 company - always think BIG!

Until Next Time,
God Bless,
Tim

Ps. This site is about sharing ideas and your thoughts are a definite need to keep this site where it should be. So please leave input and add to it as well.
